Grassroots Organization Ready to Abolish Property Taxes in Florida
West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) March 1, 2008 -- The organization Not Good Enough Florida officially filed a citizens ballot initiative with the Florida Division of Elections on Friday, February 22nd to repeal Ad Valorem property taxes for all property owners as well as personal property (tangibles tax).
If Not Good Enough Florida is successful in obtaining the 611,000 signatures required and gains approval of the Florida Supreme Court, the Amendment would be placed on the 2010 November general election.
Representative Julio Robaina (R-Miami) has pledged his 100% support to Not Good Enough Floridas efforts to collect the 611,000 signatures needed to place this amendment on the November 2010 ballot.
Joe Raineri, president and founder of Not Good Enough Florida commented "It has become obvious that nothing more will be done to address property tax reform in Florida. Amendment 1 will do nothing to bring fairness and equity to the property tax system nor will it kick start this comatose real state market and declining economy"
The petition calls for the responsibility of replacing foregone revenue as a result of the Ad Valorem repeal with the Florida Legislature.
"We are tired of being told that we should just wait and see what happens. It is obvious the Florida Senate does not have the political will to deal with this crisis and we can't depend on the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission to bring real long term reform to the property tax system. It's up to the citizens now." says Raineri.
The Florida Taxation and Budget Reform Commission is currently reviewing proposals that speak to replacing revenue for the state in exchange for lowering property taxes.
Not Good Enough Florida's Executive Director John Hallman commented, "The current property tax system is seriously flawed and beyond fixing. By eliminating Ad Valorem taxes, the Florida Legislature will be forced to focus on the many options they have available to replace revenue. The key is to find a tax system that taxes a wide base at a low rate, and does not place the tax burden on any one group of taxpayers"
"The citizens of Florida should have a choice when it comes to the issue of Property tax reform. Much has been made about the 1.35% plan, but that may not go far enough for many. Now we have another option." says Raineri.
Not good enough Florida will be conducting a statewide Teleconference for Citizens on Tuesday March 4th at 7:00pm. Leaders of tax groups from around the state will be speaking.

Getting Rich With Real Estate, Fast
Many people can get the 90 LAV loans on investment properties therefore many investors are financing or refinancing their properties at higher percentage values than normal. Many are taking cash out at the closing and many are choosing to pay near retail value for real estate, homes, land and/or properties that are eligible for this type of financing, on the theory that a no money down deal is a good deal, even if it only cash flows a little. Wise investors avoid this (and the strong "sales pitches" by mortgage brokers) thus fair much better.
